In the paints and coatings industry, 20 MICRONS specialty Calcined kaolin extender pigments are used to reduce titanium dioxide and improve film properties, package stability and reduce formulation costs of industrial coatings, as well as improve the optical qualities of paints, namely hiding power and tint strength.
These are refined by using complex processes to control particle size distribution, remove natural contaminants, minimize ionic impurities and enhance brightness. Some 20 MICRONS Calcined kaolin are surface-modified and treated with functional additives(like Silanes, Titanates, metallic stearates,etc.) to further enhance performance, processing and hydrophobicity.and UV stability.
